MitraUK is the online community for the Maharashtrian community in the UK started in 1998.  I have run it since 2001.

There are many event from lots of organisations around the UK and the aim of MitraUK is simple.  Have fun, build a community and get involved in doing activities and cultural events.  The events programme for MitraUK over the past 10 years has covered the length and breadth of Britain and we always have something a bit different on the programme. The only thing you need to do is have a go.  All Marathi organisations have members in MitraUK and this website aims to bring that information together.

A number of our members write their own blogs too.  If you want to submit yours then please join and yours will be added here.  With over 1000 members and many joining every month, MitraUK gives you the chance to communicate with the Maharashtrian community here in the UK and with those that have returned home.

If you want to add your event to the website then please go to the add event link and post there.  What might seem like a small local event will make the difference to a person coming to your area that doesn’t know anyone and also give you the support to continue wanting to run them.  If you want to upload photos and links from your events then you can do that from our website or simply link to yours.

Many MitraUK members also write their own blogs on a variety of subjects which are showcased here.
